The Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a crucial role within a vibrant multidisciplinary team, delivering treatment services in alignment with the Discovery Behavioral Health Clinical Model.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducts comprehensive medical screening assessments for potential new admissions, ensuring medical suitability for facility admission and collaborating with the physician.
2. Performs initial nursing evaluations and oversees the complete medical admission process for each client upon their entry.
3. Ensures that all physician and psychiatrist orders are executed efficiently, while maintaining clear communication regarding client welfare during treatment team meetings.
4. Develops and implements individualized Nursing Care Plans tailored to each client's needs.
5. Responsible for daily narcotic counts and proper logging procedures.
6. Executes blood draws as required.
7. Ensures that all necessary medications for clients are ordered and readily available within the facility.
8. Manages nursing supplies, ensuring a fully stocked and operational nursing station.
9. Conducts weekly audits of client charts to verify that all medications have appropriate consent forms and that all orders are documented accurately.
10. Diligently documents client progress on a daily basis, maintaining objectivity and accuracy.
11. Assesses clients for suicidality and evaluates potential risks to themselves or others.
Available Shifts:
- 3-11PM (Full-Time, must work 1 weekend day)
- 3-11PM (Part-Time, must be available weekends)
