Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team at The Toro Company. As an Assembler, you will be responsible for performing mechanical work building machinery using various hand and power tools. This includes working with mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems on machinery. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to read and follow instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production records to understand assembly requirements.
  • Assemble machinery and sub-assemblies using vises, clamps, wrenches, and air-powered tools.
  • Handle components and completed pieces of equipment, including operating equipment to move it and check its functions.
  • Use a computer to check the location, inventory, and routing of parts.
  • Record information electronically and maintain accurate production records.
Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic mechanical skills and aptitude, with experience in mechanical assembly or repair a plus.
  • Strong reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including the ability to understand written instructions and maintain production records.
Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant conditions, with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt.
  • Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, compressed air power supplies, and materials handling.
  • Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, paint, and fuels.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands for this job are classified as medium and include the following:
  • Regularly handle items weighing up to 60 pounds from floor to knuckle.
  • Regularly pull or push items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly lift items weighing up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
  • Regularly lift items weighing up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
  • Frequent walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Occasional sitting, twisting, elevated work, and continuous standing.
