Aircraft Systems Electrical Engineer

STS Technical Services is in search of an Aircraft Electrical Engineer to become a vital part of the TechOps Engineering division at Delta Air Lines. This position is centered around the design, development, and integration of cabin electrical systems aimed at improving the passenger experience.
Key Responsibilities:
As a pivotal member of the Cabin Avionics team within the Interiors Engineering department, your primary duties will encompass:
- Electrical System Design: Establish the framework for the design, integration, installation, and certification of electrical components and systems within Delta's fleet.
- Collaboration: Engage with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers, modification/repair facilities, and both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate cabin reconfigurations, new product innovations, and specifications for new aircraft.
- Documentation Management: Gather relevant information, organize documentation, and actively participate in design review sessions. Aid in the creation of Engineering Authorizations for cabin retrofit initiatives and develop engineering documentation for cabin modifications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all supporting documentation adheres to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain robust relationships with internal clients.
General Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of pertinent experience.
- Experience: Prior experience in airline, military, OEM, or MRO settings involving commercial aircraft is highly desirable.
- Skills: Knowledge of airline flight operations, support systems, FAR 121 dispatch regulations, and programming is advantageous.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal capabilities and the ability to appreciate diverse perspectives and styles.
- Safety and Security: A consistent focus on safety and security for oneself and others.
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by the date of hire if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Regulatory Acumen: Familiarity with 14 CFR 25 & 121 regulations, Airworthiness Directives (AD) Compliance, and the Supplemental Type Certification (STC) process.
- Technical Documentation: Proficient in utilizing Aircraft Technical Manuals (AMM, CMM, IPCs, WDMs) and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
- Safety Risk Management: Application of Safety Risk Management principles in technical contexts.
- System Expertise: Understanding of emergency escape path lighting systems, aircraft power systems, and electrical load analyses.
