Position Summary
As a Power Electronics Hardware Engineer within the Nidec Aerospace division, you will leverage your expertise to design advanced electric propulsion systems for battery-operated aircraft, contributing to a sustainable future in aviation.
Key Responsibilities
The Power Electronics Hardware Engineer will be instrumental in the design and development of power electronic circuits that facilitate the production of motor control systems for electric propulsion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing functionally safe motor control electronics for electric propulsion systems.
- Creating power electronic circuits that incorporate SiC devices, power converters, gate drivers, and EMI/EMC suppression circuits.
- Applying in-depth knowledge of power electronics and SiC devices to produce high-performance, efficient, and reliable motor control solutions.
- Conducting design analysis, simulations, and reviews, while leading the PCB layout process and managing documentation.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software and mechanical engineers, to define system requirements and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Technical Expertise Required
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in power electronics design and development.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic design and PCB layout.
- Experience with functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262, particularly in the aerospace sector.
- Familiarity with thermal simulations and optimization techniques.
