Key Responsibilities:
  • Design comprehensive engineering packages for aircraft avionics and electrical modifications.
  • Collaborate with and lead multidisciplinary teams, including customer engineering departments, to develop engineering solutions for aircraft avionics and electrical systems, encompassing system analysis, specification evaluation, and integration documentation.
  • Create and interpret engineering schematics, including Wiring Diagrams, Electrical Load Analysis, and Modification/Installation documentation.
  • Lead vendor coordination meetings, both on-site and remotely.
  • Provide on-site engineering assistance for aircraft modifications as required by clients.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical challenges related to avionics systems throughout development, testing, and operational phases.
  • Conduct system testing, verification, and validation to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of experience in airline avionics/electrical maintenance, maintenance repair and overhaul engineering, or military aviation settings.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience/training.
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR regulations pertaining to Part 121 airline operations and Part 145 maintenance.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience with various aircraft systems, including Communications, Navigation, Auto Flight, Indicating/Recording, Flight Deck Displays, Information Systems, and Lighting.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness certification processes from regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA, EASA).
  • Previous involvement in commercial airline modification programs is highly desirable.
  • Proficient understanding of CFRs, particularly parts 25 and 121, and relevant aviation regulations and certifications, such as DO-178C and DO-254.
  • Ability to create, read, and interpret:
    • Engineering Orders
    • Change Requests
    • IPCs
    • CMMs
    • Wiring Diagrams
    • System Schematic Drawings
    • Electrical Load Analysis
    • Engineering drawings
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and the ability to learn proprietary software.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects effectively.
  • Skilled in technical writing.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Customer service-oriented with adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and engage professionally with colleagues and clients.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of working independently while solving problems with minimal oversight.
