Position Overview:
As a Liaison Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising the creation, design, and production of repair, modification, process, and inspection documentation that supports Delta's global maintenance operations.
Your role will involve assessing and interpreting Airworthiness Directives (AD), Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), and Delta's internal policies to ensure that all engineering documentation adheres to compliance standards. You will assist in diagnosing and resolving issues that impede maintenance support functions, all while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of airline operations to facilitate safe aircraft operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety-conscious practices are followed in all operational processes.
- Work rotating shifts as required by operational needs.
- Hold a four-year accredited engineering degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical fields, or equivalent experience.
- Be prepared to work odd hours, including midnights and weekends.
- Exhibit strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Provide timely support during scheduled work hours.
- Utilize problem-solving skills and analytical thinking to address challenges.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of maintenance and engineering personnel.
- Adapt to high-pressure environments and manage short deadlines effectively.
- Participate in travel for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations as needed.
- Support line liaison engineering across various disciplines (Aerospace, Mechanical Systems, Electrical).
- Offer engineering support for both line and live aircraft operations.
- Have specific experience in designing and analyzing aircraft structural repairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in repair analysis and troubleshooting.
- Ability to generate substantiation reports for aircraft airworthiness.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance requirements and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.
- Experience in developing safety-conscious strategies that promote employee well-being.
- Previous experience in liaison engineering or Material Review Board (MRB) roles.
- Possession of a valid passport is preferred.
