STS Technical Services is in search of an Aircraft Electrical Engineer to be part of the TechOps Engineering division at Delta Air Lines in Atlanta. This position emphasizes the design, development, and integration of cabin systems aimed at improving the passenger experience.



Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Engineer within the Cabin Avionics team of the Interiors Engineering department, your primary duties will encompass:

  • Design of Cabin Systems: Outline the scope for the design, integration, installation, and certification of cabin components and systems for Delta's fleet.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, modification/repair sites, and both internal and external customers to facilitate cabin reconfigurations, new product development, and specifications for new aircraft.
  • Documentation Management: Gather information, organize documentation, and take part in design review meetings. Assist in developing Engineering Authorizations for cabin retrofit projects and create necessary engineering documentation for cabin reconfigurations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all supporting documentation adheres to policies, procedures, and mandated regulations.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers.


General Requirements:
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Previous involvement in airline, military, OEM, or MRO environments with commercial aircraft is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of airline flight operations, support systems, FAR 121 dispatch regulations, and programming is advantageous.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to appreciate diverse perspectives and styles.
  • Safety and Security: Consistently prioritize safety and security for oneself and others.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by the date of hire if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with 14 CFR 25 & 121 regulations, Airworthiness Directives (AD) Compliance, and the Supplemental Type Certification (STC) process.
  • Technical Manuals: Proficient in utilizing Aircraft Technical Manuals (AMM, CMM, IPCs, WDMs) and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
  • Safety Risk Management: Application of Safety Risk Management principles in technical contexts.
  • System Knowledge: Understanding of emergency escape path lighting systems, aircraft power systems, and electrical load analyses.
