As an RF Software Engineer within the Cellular Firmware team, you will play a crucial role in the embedded 5G/4G/multimode cellular firmware initiatives within a silicon design group focused on creating and optimizing innovative cellular SoCs.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement RF device drivers and software to manage RF transceivers and front-end components with precise timing specifications.
- Design, enhance, and optimize cellular modem processing algorithms related to Baseband and RF components in cellular systems.
- Collaborate with Baseband and RF systems engineers to establish hardware architecture and software requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams to manage dependencies while driving essential Radio features.

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with mobile communication standards in 4G/5G 3GPP protocols and radio architecture
  • Experience with RF transceiver and front-end component control for 4G/5G radios
  • Knowledge of RF calibration techniques for mitigating RF impairments
  • Understanding of design principles to meet stringent real-time requirements is advantageous
  • Strong grasp of software engineering principles and fundamental computer science concepts
  • Proficient in embedded C/C++ programming, with experience in compilers, build systems, and source control tools
  • Experience with RF testing equipment for validation and troubleshooting
  • Proficient in debugging embedded software systems, with familiarity in JTAG
Education & Experience

Minimum Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant industry experience

Compensation & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one component of our total compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This structure allows for growth as you develop in your role. The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Employees at Apple also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
