Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Ortho Rhode Island as a Physician Assistant. As a key member of our medical team, you will work closely with world-class surgeons and clinicians in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care as a first surgical assistant
  • Conduct hospital admissions and consultations, and perform inpatient rounds
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries and conditions
  • Order and interpret various medical tests and studies, including X-rays, MRIs, and blood tests
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive care and refer patients to specialists as needed
  • Prescribe medications, perform minor procedures, and provide patient education
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain confidentiality
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Valid Rhode Island license
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and EMR software

Work Environment

This role involves working in an operating room and office setting, with regular use of standard office equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, flexibility is required to meet the needs of the team and the organization.
