Position Overview:

At Vail Resorts, exceptional service is at the core of our mission, and our Cooks play a vital role in delivering an extraordinary culinary experience. As part of the kitchen team, you will work closely with the Chef, fostering collaboration among staff while ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety for our guests.

Position Specifications:

  • Expected Compensation: $25.49 per hour.
  • Availability: Full Time, Year-Round (10 months).
  • Experience Level: Advanced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize and instruct others on the proper use of kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Maintain and enforce standards for cleanliness and food preparation to ensure a safe and high-quality environment.
  • Stay informed about current menu offerings and their ingredients.
  • Prepare ingredients and manage inventory to minimize waste.
  • Monitor ingredient stock using a first-in, first-out method and track food waste for reporting purposes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or certification is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience; supervisory experience in a kitchen is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety practices; ServSafe certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English is required.

The expected pay range is $25.49 per hour. This reflects the compensation we anticipate for this role, with individual decisions based on various factors.
