Role Summary:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will provide specialized care for patients facing serious, life-limiting illnesses and their families. This role involves analyzing complex clinical data to assess, diagnose, implement, and coordinate care plans that focus on symptom management, functional improvement, and effective communication. The primary objective is to enhance the quality of life for every patient and family we serve.

Key Aspects of the APRN Role in Palliative Care:

  • This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week.
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience as an advanced practice nurse.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio with no disciplinary actions.
  • Board certification as an advanced practice nurse from a recognized certifying body.
  • Possession of an active unrestricted DEA license.
  • Eligibility for maintaining sufficient malpractice insurance coverage.
  • Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine (ACHPN) is preferred; must be obtained within two years of employment (eligibility requires completion of 500 hours of hospice/palliative experience).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Proficient computer skills for accurate documentation of services and care.
  • Ability to drive in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.
  • Compliance with state minimum automobile insurance requirements.
