About the Role:

The Retail Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring seamless customer service, managing sales floor operations, and promoting a positive and welcoming environment for our customers. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example, providing exceptional customer service and promoting a positive and welcoming environment.
  • Manage sales floor operations, including inventory management, display maintenance, and cash handling procedures.
  • Support budtenders in customer consultations and discounts, while independently managing their register.
  • Implement breaks at strategic times and maintain a productive pace on the sales floor.
  • Have a deep understanding of our Dutchie POS system and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Intake third-party finished products in adherence to state-compliant guidelines.
  • Support inventory management in the retail department to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Oversee the transaction process, assisting budtenders with any customer service-related disruptions.
  • Maintain floor professionalism, including cleanliness and stock par of all products.
  • Ensure all displays and fridges are organized with product faces correctly.
  • Be able to properly diffuse customer and employee escalations while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere on the Retail Sales Floor.
  • Understand the company's discount policy and execute when appropriate.
  • Operate a cash register and itemize and total purchases by recording prices, departments, discounts/specials, and regulation limits.
  • Provide customers with cannabis information and educational resources regarding strains, methods of administration, effects, and precautions related to their consumption of marijuana products.
  • Review in-store and online menus and deals, reporting any discrepancies to Management.
  • Work together with Management to ensure the sales floor is operating at its maximum potential.
  • Have knowledge of and uphold AZDHS policies to operate compliantly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of retail experience, preferably in a cannabis dispensary or related industry.
  • 1+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of cannabis products, strains, consumption methods, and industry regulations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in cash handling procedures and point-of-sales (POS) systems.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed.
  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Reliable attendance and communication - show up to work when you say you will and do what you say you will do.
  • Criminal background checks will be performed; most marijuana-related crimes will not negatively impact an application.
  • Reliable transportation.
