About the Role

The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and managing the hotel's operations. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and develop a team to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the hotel's operations in the General Manager's absence, ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and activities.
  • Lead and develop a team of direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure they understand employment practices and are equipped to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Manage daily inventory to maximize Rooms and Food & Beverage revenue, analyzing data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Participate in the development of short and long-term financial and operational plans for the hotel, collaborating with the General Manager to drive business growth.
  • Assist the General Manager in developing profit and loss statements, budgets, and financial forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Achieve all guest service standards, constantly seeking ways to improve products and services, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Receive and respond to guest complaints in a timely manner, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  • Empathize and engage with associates to drive hotel culture and embrace company core values, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Support proper preventive maintenance of the physical property, mechanical and IT systems, guest rooms, public space, back of house, and exterior, ensuring a high level of quality and safety.
  • Manage loss prevention and risk management policies, safety standards, and claims reporting, minimizing risks and ensuring a secure work environment.
  • Maintain a security function to protect the assets of the hotel and the personal safety of associates and guests, ensuring a secure and safe work environment.
  • Continually gain proficiency in the operation of all departments of the hotel, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Support all departments as needed based on business demands, providing assistance and guidance to ensure seamless execution of daily tasks and activities.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of department head experience in the hospitality industry, including Rooms and/or F&B experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Prior direct supervisory experience, with a strong understanding of team management and leadership.
  • Solid understanding of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in hotel management, business, or related field, or equivalent experience, with a strong foundation in business principles and practices.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
