Role Summary:

The Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing and providing care to patients requiring respiratory therapy. This includes administering prescribed therapeutic services.

Key Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Evaluate patients to determine the appropriate treatment plans based on their diagnoses.
  • Deliver respiratory care services in alignment with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Implement and oversee patient care plans and monitor equipment usage. Maintain accurate records of patient conditions.
  • Review respiratory practices and treatment outcomes to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions and available community resources.
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment, ensuring departmental inventory is managed effectively.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and participate in rapid response teams.
  • Maintain a high level of alertness and safety in all tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • No prior experience necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regular verbal communication with patients and team members.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of vision for close and distant tasks.
  • Regular auditory communication to respond to alarms and patient needs.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

State-specific certifications and licenses as required for practice.
