Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at SSM Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and caring for patients with respiratory therapy needs. You will administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services, implement and monitor patient care plans, and educate patients and families about their health conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and ventilator management.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, including respiratory therapy modalities and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families about their health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available resources.
  • Assist with care, calibration, and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • State-specific respiratory care practitioner certification.
Work Environment

This is a per diem position, working variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
