The SHE Specialist will lead the implementation and maintenance of the facility's safety, health, and environmental (SHE) programs. This role requires a strong understanding of SHE regulatory requirements and current best practices. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of SHE experience in manufacturing or construction, with experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the overall plant SHE effort
• Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies, procedures, and programs
• Administer SHE program management, including auditing, monitoring, reporting, and record keeping
• Provide technical guidance and support regarding various SHE issues
• Promote and foster employee understanding of SHE standards and goals
• Organize and assist management with training employees and contractors regarding SHE topics
• Conduct SHE audits, inspections, and investigations and assist in identifying corrective actions
• Work with the organization to identify and develop strategies for mitigating SHE hazards and unsafe practices
• Represent the organization in SHE matters with government agencies, insurance representatives, and others as needed
• Supervise SHE contractors that provide services to the plant
• Keep management informed of SHE issues and trends

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Health, and Environmental or related field
• 5 years of SHE experience in manufacturing or construction, with experience in chemical manufacturing preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of SHE regulatory requirements and current best practices
• Knowledge of environmental and safety law, leadership and teamwork, time management skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn and use other software as needed
• Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: CSP preferred
