Special Education Classroom Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our students at DIMENSIONS S PK-3 THRU 8TH, a high-needs school.

Job Summary
  • Teach and support students with special needs in a collaborative and dynamic classroom setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with regular education staff to ensure seamless inclusion and support for students.
  • Provide training and support to staff on special education issues and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as district policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Perform the duties of a classroom teacher, including lesson planning, instruction, and assessment.
  • Initiate and participate in categorical eligibility meetings as an expert in special education.
  • Monitor and review IEPs, ensuring that each child has a current and effective plan in place.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the building principal on special education issues.
  • Develop and maintain a working special education file for each student.
  • Collaborate with regular education staff to ensure inclusion and support for students.
  • Provide training and support to staff on special education issues and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
Requirements
  • Current Oklahoma Certificate as a Special Education Teacher in a specific disability.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, with certification in Elementary Education and Mild/Moderate certification preferred.
  • No prior experience required for this position.
