Our 6 South surgical unit is a 32-bed facility that specializes in post-operative care for abdominal surgery patients. As a RN on our team, you will work closely with surgeons and surgical residents to provide high-quality patient care.
We foster a collaborative and friendly atmosphere, with a strong focus on teamwork and open communication. Our multidisciplinary team includes case management, PT/OT, dieticians, and social work, all working together to provide comprehensive care.
Our unit offers a well-structured environment with certified preceptors, allowing you to develop your assessment skills and provide excellent patient care.

Scope of WorkAs a RN on our team, you will utilize the nursing process to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients.
You will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
You will partner with patients and families to develop teaching strategies and document education and learning in the health record.

QualificationsTo be eligible for this role, you must have an Associate's degree in Nursing and be registered in the state of Michigan. You must also have a BSN within 5 years and have at least one year of acute care experience or two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role.
You must also have AHA or ARC Basic Life Support certification within 90 days and AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification within 6 months.
