Maintenance Manager Job Description

The Role

This position requires a strong leader who can interact with all departmental functions within the plant, including safety training, equipment repair, predictive maintenance planning, and preventative maintenance of existing machines. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of plant processes and the ability to use Six Sigma analytical tools to resolve production-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and budget maintenance activities
  • Assist the plant in providing a safe working environment while ensuring quality products are produced through effective maintenance management
  • Oversee capital projects, including development of technical specifications, vendor selection, and project implementation
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and governmental guidelines, rules, and regulations related to health, safety, and environmental issues
  • Participate in incident and near-miss investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent work experience
  • Necessary skills to manage high-level projects in manufacturing environments
  • Maintenance management experience with working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety regulations
  • Ability to solve problems and achieve goals with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
