Position Title: Child and Family Advocate - Eligible for a $1000 bonus

Reports to: Family Resource Center Manager

Status: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Position Summary

Family Services is actively seeking a dedicated full-time "Child and Family Advocate" to join our team. This role is integral to our Family Resource Center, which provides essential support and resources for families with children from birth to 18 years old. The Advocate will collaborate with families facing various challenges that affect their home environment and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in community outreach and assist in recruiting participants for programs.
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments for all referred families, utilizing standardized assessment tools.
  • Deliver personalized support services, including the development of individual growth plans and motivational support.
  • Coordinate a network of support services for families, ensuring their access to appropriate external resources and advocating on their behalf.
  • Facilitate the implementation of evidence-based parenting education programs and support groups.
  • Collaborate with the Family Resource Center Clinician to complete assessments and develop support plans for families facing challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of client data and document all program activities.
  • Provide translation services for Spanish-speaking families and support other staff members as needed.
  • Assist participants in building self-sufficiency and navigating available support systems.
  • Represent the Family Resource Center at community events and meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Family Resource Center Manager.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in facilitating group programs and working with low-income families.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is essential.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.
  • Experience in implementing evidence-based parenting education and support programs.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families is preferred.
  • Ability to manage data collection and entry into a Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Access to reliable transportation for work-related duties.

Compensation and Benefits
  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive pay range of $19-$20 per hour, based on experience.
