Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Music Therapist to join our team at Partners in Child Development. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing in-home and childcare center Early Intervention services to children ages 0-3 who have or are at risk for developmental delays or have a diagnosed disability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in evaluations, interventions, and development of Individual Family Service plans (IFSPs) to address family outcomes and the child's individual needs.
  • Use music to promote development in speech and language, social skills, cognitive/attention, physical, and motor delays.
  • Collaborate with team members, public/private, and community service providers to provide comprehensive services to clients.
  • Develop and implement music-based interventions to support children's developmental goals.
  • Conduct music therapy sessions in home-based settings or childcare centers.
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records of client interactions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) issued by the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric setting working with children under the age of 5.
  • Experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental milestones and delays in children, as well as the impact of emotional, behavioral, and neurological disabilities on the child's functioning and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, empathy, and compassion for children and families.
  • Sufficient computer and technical skills to complete position required documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, team members, and other professionals.
  • Outstanding time management, organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • History of maintaining client confidentiality, professional boundaries, displaying integrity, and credibility.
