Job Summary

University Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive high-quality care by performing registration functions and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform outpatient and inpatient registration functions, ensuring that patients meet financial requirements.
  • Provide general information to hospital users, patients, and families, and communicate effectively with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.
  • Work in various functional areas, including check-in desks, emergency department registration, outpatient registration, and inpatient and observation registration.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in customer service or successful completion of the UH Patient Access Rep/Patient Scheduler Apprentice Program.
  • Strong communication and keyboarding skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical or business account information, financial and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, staff, and members of the business community.
