Financial Analyst Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in medical claims administration and a working knowledge of stop-loss administration. The primary responsibility of this position is to support MedCost clients by coordinating the process of new group and renewal business implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently address questions and requests for information from stop-loss carriers and gather all supporting documentation from corresponding departments as necessary.
  • Assist with researching and resolving client issues related to finance operations.
  • Maintain billing sheets to map out billing categories.
  • Maintain Jira tickets for billing sheets to be configured.
  • Quality Assurance of completed Jira tickets to ensure billing categories are configured correctly.
  • Demonstrate underwriting skills in support of renewal and new business.
  • Support new group onboarding and implementation.
  • Provide requisite support to Account Management, Sales, and external broker partners as needed.
  • Assess the need for a sense of urgency with all work activities and communicate appropriately with department leadership to coordinate response/resolution.
  • Provide reporting to internal and external requests as required.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze technical contractual documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and process applications for new and renewal business.
  • Input and maintain accuracy and completeness of policy systems and files.
  • Provide staff support for questions in subject matter issues.
  • Act as subject matter expert for the implementation of a new stop-loss policy by group and any new stop-loss carrier relationship.
  • Maintain and oversee standard operating procedure documents for Underwriting and Stop Loss and act in the role of trainer if needed.
  • Evaluate opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions producing desired outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalency in business administration, accounting, or finance-related discipline.
  • Experience in administration of self-funded or fully insured group health plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in claims administration and/or stop-loss insurance.
