Key Responsibilities for School Age CDA/Assistant Teacher

  • Assist in delivering high-quality programming and educational focus in assigned classrooms.
  • Ensure consistent supervision of children in the classroom.
  • Encourage active participation and engagement with children.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to ensure necessary supplies and resources are available.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in planning, evaluating, and implementing educational programs.
  • Prepare the classroom environment with materials in accordance with weekly plans.
  • Implement age-appropriate developmental and cultural activities.
  • Create and execute lesson plans.
  • Participate in the response to intervention (RIT) process.
  • Identify and support children's individual needs; adjust curriculum and/or environment as necessary.
  • Monitor classroom management aspects including size, ratio, attendance, mealtime, and schedules.
  • Participate in classroom transition processes.
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, maximizing enrollment potential.
  • Follow all required business management practices.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm and a nurturing demeanor consistently.
  • Engage in team efforts to achieve the company's vision.
  • Complete a minimum of twenty-four (24) professional development hours or eight (8) college credits annually.

Education and Experience Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with one year (1,250 hours; 2,500 hours in lieu of a degree) of experience, or an Associate's degree in Child Development or credits towards an Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Alternatively, forty-five (45) professional development hours or three (3) to six (6) ECE credits may qualify. Successful candidates must possess interpersonal and communication skills, creativity in problem-solving, and a basic understanding of MS Office.
