Purchasing Manager Job Description

Vinfen is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to lead our corporate-wide purchasing efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing best practice purchasing policies and procedures, managing purchasing programs, and negotiating contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and analyze spending patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to provide direction on products and services needed for purchasing consolidation and field assignment of purchasing programs.
  • Develop and manage RFP bid processes to ensure cost-effective use of consortia and group purchasing organizations.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures related to acquisition of non-salaried expenses, excluding Real Estate.
  • Direct the administration of purchasing operations at the corporate office, including hiring and managing staff.
  • Utilize staff effectively to optimize effort and achieve operational goals.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of purchasing concepts, theories, and practices.
  • Ability to analyze and improve business processes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Word.
