Aerospace Machinist 3 Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Machinist 3 to join our team at CMI Group Aerospace & Defense. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines, processing trouble shooting, and mentoring process operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines without oversight, running proven production and NPI jobs
- Ability to process trouble shooting all jobs that run in the department
- Ability to setup any job, including NPI, and effectively demonstrate proper setup techniques, loading, indicating, touch off, of all tooling
- Ability to modify speeds and feeds and conduct process improvements to increase quality and cycle time reductions
- Mentor and train process operators on process operation and process quality
- Daily machine maintenance, including checking fluid levels and cleaning out chips
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Complete understanding of CNC controls, including G & M program codes
- Tool management, entering in offsets to compensate for tool wear, and replacement of worn and damaged tools
- Ability to read and have a clear understanding of B/P's, including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, GD&T, and any other standard nomenclature
- Proper use of basic inspection, measuring, and test equipment to verify machined dimensions of product
- In-process inspection of parts machined, recording inspection data at prescribed intervals
- Filling out MOT and job routers, maintaining correct part counts on the MOT
- Tagging hardware and recording discrepancies on proper paperwork
- Communicating job-related issues or questions to lead personnel for resolution or clarification
- Reporting machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel
- Adhering to all company and industry safety standards and protocols
Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or trade school
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to stand majority of the shift
