The Patient Experience Ambassador will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive patient experience at Boston Children's Hospital. As the primary point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every interaction is welcoming, informative, and empathetic.

    • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.">
    • Greet, screen, and direct patients, families, and visitors to ensure they receive the care and support they need.">
    • Register new patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected.">

  • Patient Registration/Discharge">
    • ">
    • Monitor clinic activity to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance the patient experience.">
    • Record and process patient demographics, insurance/payment, and referral information for accurate billing and scheduling.">
    • Collect and transcribe clinical documentation and information into the billing system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.">
    • Obtain required authorizations, referrals, and verifications of insurance to ensure seamless coordination of care.">

    • ">
    • Coordinate patient encounters and procedures with providers, departments, and institutions to optimize resource utilization and patient flow.">
    • Monitor daily schedules and adjust as needed to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize delays.">

  • Administration">

    • Maintain accurate calendars for physicians and supervisors, ensuring timely scheduling and coordination of meetings and programs.">
    • Transcribe, type, and proofread correspondence, forms, and reports involving complex scientific and technical terminology.">
    • Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate emergency services as needed.">
    • Participate in purchasing inventory and provide routine clerical support as required.">

    • Utilize office technology, including phone systems, email, Microsoft Office programs, and clinical, scheduling, and billing applications to enhance productivity and efficiency.">
    • Enroll patients and caregivers in the patient portal to facilitate secure communication and access to medical records.">

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • ">
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required.">
  • Previous customer service and/or administrative experience preferred.">
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.">
  • Basic computer skills and customer service abilities are essential.">
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and families in challenging situations.">
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies.">
