Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at the City of Houston, TX. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting with health clinics and field activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and record their medical history using electronic health records
  • Administer and issue medications and vaccines according to approved standing delegation orders
  • Assist with patient follow-up and assist nurse or physician as directed
  • Compile statistical data for reports and maintain inventory of supplies and medications
  • Ensure positive outcomes in all clinical service areas, including productivity and wait time decrease
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED certificate and graduation from a school of vocational or practical nursing
  • One year of nursing experience as a licensed vocational nurse
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving
  • CPR certification and licensure to practice as a Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of infectious diseases such as HIV, STIs, and viral hepatitis
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and adapt to emergency situations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional organizational skills
