Position Overview:
The Pet Groomer at Pet Lodge Pet Resort is a commission-based role that reports directly to the General Manager. Role Significance:
This position is crucial for ensuring the well-being of pets and their owners. As a Pet Groomer, you will enhance the health and appearance of pets, providing them with a clean and well-groomed look. Your daily tasks will include grooming pets with appointments, handling walk-ins, and caring for guests in boarding. You will perform a variety of grooming services, including full grooms, simple baths, and emergency clean-ups when necessary. Your role will also involve significant interaction with pet owners, documenting observations that may help address health concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a positive grooming experience, ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
  • Complete grooming or bathing tasks according to client specifications and within designated timeframes.
  • Coordinate with Resort Hosts to manage grooming appointments and discuss vaccination protocols with clients.
  • Engage with clients to clarify grooming instructions and provide feedback post-grooming, including suggesting additional services.
  • Respond promptly to client communications, fostering strong relationships and encouraging repeat appointments.
  • Resolve customer service issues to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain grooming tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and effective.
  • Notify management of supply needs to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards in your workspace, including regular cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
  • Monitor the health of pets during grooming sessions and report any concerns to management and pet owners.
  • Ensure pets have access to water and bathroom breaks during extended grooming sessions.
  • Follow safety protocols when handling pets, especially those that may be aggressive or anxious.
  • Adhere to pricing guidelines and obtain approval for any additional charges.
  • Communicate effectively with pet care staff regarding the pets in your care.
  • Ensure proper identification of pets during grooming.
  • Assist with laundry and collaborate with other departments as needed.
Team Qualities:
  • A genuine passion for animal care, particularly for dogs and cats.
  • Commitment to safe and gentle handling of pets.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Effective communication skills to build lasting relationships with clients.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with grooming and handling pets of various sizes.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliability and punctuality in all job responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Education: Professional Grooming Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
Experience:
  • Two to four years of professional grooming experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of breed standards and grooming techniques.
