Position Overview
Exciting Leadership Role - Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3 PM
The Registered Nurse in this position operates under the guidance of the Operating Room Manager, playing a pivotal role in overseeing and facilitating all activities within the Operating Room of the facility. This role is essential in managing patient flow, ensuring adherence to policies, and prioritizing the welfare of both patients and surgical teams. The RN shares the responsibility of upholding practice standards, departmental policies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Key duties include supporting compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborating with management to enhance satisfaction and streamline departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implement and uphold standards of practice and departmental policies.
2. Review and adapt existing practices in the Surgical Services area.
3. Act as a subject matter expert in nursing practices related to surgical services.
4. Provide insights and feedback on departmental policies and procedures.
5. Ensure compliance with established standards and policies.
6. Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of healthcare delivery.
7. Maintain open communication and collaborative practices among staff and physicians.
8. Promote a safe environment for both staff and patients.
9. Engage in performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
10. Collaborate with management to ensure fiscal responsibility and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (Single State) required.
- RN - Multi-state Compact required.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Additional certifications in surgical nursing preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in an operating room setting required.
Skills Required
- Proficient in English language communication.
- Advanced knowledge of patient flow in perioperative nursing.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
