A pivotal leadership role within the Operating Room department, this position is designed for a registered professional nurse who will operate under the guidance of the Operating Room Manager. The individual will oversee the daily operations of the OR, ensuring optimal patient flow while adhering to established policies and best practices for patient and surgeon care. This role encompasses a shared responsibility for maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and fostering quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Nurse Coordinator, your essential duties will include:
- Implementing and reviewing departmental policies and standards of practice.
- Acting as a subject matter expert in surgical nursing practices.
- Providing insights and feedback for the development of departmental protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
- Evaluating healthcare quality and appropriateness.
- Maintaining a respectful and patient-centered care environment.
- Conducting performance evaluations in line with human resources policies.
- Fostering collaboration among staff, departments, and healthcare providers.
- Promoting a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff.
- Engaging in continuous professional development and maintaining licensure.

- Coordinating resources to ensure readiness for surgical cases.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- A valid Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- A minimum of five years of nursing experience in an operating room setting.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to various software.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
