Certified Pharmacy Technician Job Description

At ASP Cares, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer telephones and respond to patient, doctor, and clinic requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications and supplies.
  • Assist customers by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
  • Pre-pack bulk medicines, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and accurately label them.
  • Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.
  • Receive and verify written prescription or refill requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Order, label, and count medication stock to ensure adequate supply levels.
  • Price and file prescriptions that have been filled, maintaining accurate records.
  • Operate cash registers to accept payment from customers, providing excellent customer service.
  • Clean and maintain equipment or work areas, adhering to prescribed methods and protocols.
  • Mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions, following established procedures.
  • Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms and records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Price stock and mark items for sale, maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing store environment.
  • Deliver medications or pharmaceutical supplies to patients, nursing stations, or surgery areas, as needed.
  • Transfer medication from vials to sterile, disposable syringes using aseptic techniques, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain and merchandise home healthcare products or services, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring seamless operation of our pharmacy services.
