Pharmacist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist II to join our team as a Supervising Pharmacist. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for directing and organizing pharmacy operations, supervising and training pharmacy personnel, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Direct and organize pharmacy operations, including inventory management, drug storage, and medication order review.
• Supervise and train pharmacy personnel, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and clerical staff.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) conditions of participation, and Texas Administrative Code (TAC).
• Coordinate performance improvement activities for pharmacy services, including aggregating and analyzing data for performance improvement reporting.
• Provide consultative services to clinical staff regarding patient care and to hospital employees injured in their course and scope of employment.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in disaster response and recovery efforts and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.

• Unrestricted, active Texas State Board of Pharmacy License.
• Current knowledge of local, federal, and state guidelines, procedures, rules, laws, and regulations relating to medication use.
• Ability to manage a diverse workforce, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and clerical staff.
• Ability to prepare and maintain detailed records, files, and reports.
• Ability to type accurately based on work requirements.
• Ability to review medication orders for safety and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and work cooperatively with facility and pharmacy staff.

• Experience in pharmacy management and supervision.
• Knowledge of pharmacy computer software and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish, orally and written.

This position is located in a hospital setting and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision.
