GENERAL OVERVIEW:

ASM Global, a leader in the management of public assembly venues, is seeking a part-time Assistant Culinary Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting the Head Chef and overseeing the culinary operations. The schedule is event-driven, requiring flexibility for early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and deliver food items as per Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for various events.
  • Follow recipes and culinary guidelines as instructed.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering and receiving food supplies while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.
  • Provide support to kitchen and stewarding personnel.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff.
  • Participate in monthly inventory assessments.
  • Assume responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
  • Directly oversee Line and Prep Cooks.
  • Exhibit supervisory skills in line with ASM Global's policies and relevant regulations.
  • Responsibilities include training staff, planning and delegating tasks, evaluating performance, and addressing issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with clients, staff, and patrons.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in operating culinary equipment.
  • Creativity in food presentation while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Experience in training and guiding team members.
  • Familiarity with standard office practices and culinary terminology.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on budget management.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adhere to strict timelines.
  • Compliance with local health regulations.
  • Current ServSafe Manager Certification.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a banquet facility or similar environment.
  • Two-year Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required, along with general computer literacy.

CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Current ServSafe Manager Certification or the ability to obtain it within six weeks of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
