Overview:
The State of Montana is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Management Specialist. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective management of supplies and equipment necessary for operations.
Inventory Oversight:
The individual in this position will oversee the management of inventory levels to guarantee quality, accessibility, and cost-efficiency. Responsibilities include coordinating inventory checks, inspecting incoming shipments from vendors, verifying invoices, and addressing any issues related to inventory management. A solid understanding of state purchasing regulations and inventory control practices is essential.
Facility Maintenance Coordination:
This role involves the coordination of maintenance services and safety inspections to ensure the well-being of facilities and personnel. Duties include reviewing maintenance policies, monitoring schedules, liaising with campus officials, and addressing any backlog situations. The ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and safety requirements is vital.
Contract Management and Procurement:
The Supply Chain Management Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement processes for services and supplies. This includes developing project specifications, overseeing the bidding process, evaluating proposals, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. The role also involves managing the storage and distribution of supplies, with a focus on maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness. Knowledge of contract administration and state purchasing policies is required.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be capable of lifting and transporting supplies and equipment, with the ability to handle items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Required Knowledge: Candidates should possess advanced knowledge of contract management, state purchasing regulations, and inventory control procedures.
Skills: Proficiency in using personal computers and related software, along with strong problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills, is necessary.
Abilities: The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to analyze complex inventory needs and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in purchasing, inventory management, and facility maintenance coordination, is required.
