Facility and Motor Pool Maintenance Coordination:

This position entails coordinating and supervising maintenance services and safety inspections to ensure the comfort and security of facilities and personnel. Key tasks involve reviewing policies and practices for work orders and inspections, monitoring maintenance schedules, collaborating with relevant officials, and addressing backlog situations. The role requires the ability to prioritize projects based on emergency needs, routine maintenance, and scheduled tasks.

Contract and Procurement Management:

The specialist will manage and administer contracting processes for services and supplies. This includes developing project plans, overseeing the bidding process, evaluating responses, and monitoring contractor performance. The role also involves managing the procurement, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment, ensuring adherence to policies that promote quality and cost-effectiveness. Input into budget development and problem resolution is also a key responsibility. Knowledge of contract management and state purchasing regulations is required, along with the ability to analyze complex inventory needs and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to lift and transport supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required Knowledge: Advanced understanding of contract management, state purchasing regulations, inventory control, and quality assurance procedures is necessary.

Skills:

Proficiency in personal computer operations, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, is essential. Strong problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills are required, along with proficiency in specialized software applications.

Abilities:

The role requires the ability to analyze and reconcile complex inventory needs and budget requirements, interpret state and federal regulations, and foster effective working relationships with diverse individuals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least two years of relevant experience in purchasing, inventory management, and facility maintenance coordination.
