About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Biltmore Company. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve kitchen efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and delicious menu offerings that meet the expectations of our discerning guests.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure that they are equipped to provide exceptional service and meet the high standards of The Biltmore Company.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels to ensure that they are within budget.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fine dining environment and/or luxury hotel/resort (4 or 5 star rating).
  • Proven track record of success in inventory/cost controls, fiscal planning, and profit and loss reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Physical Requirements

This role requires moderate physical activity, including standing and walking for up to 10 hours per day, and handling average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.
