We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Biltmore Company. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve kitchen efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and delicious menu offerings that meet the expectations of our discerning guests.
- Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and organized manner.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure that they are equipped to provide exceptional service and meet the high standards of The Biltmore Company.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fine dining environment and/or luxury hotel/resort (4 or 5 star rating).
- High school diploma required; additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to build, develop, and motivate teams.
- Excellent organizational, planning, project/time management skills, with a keen attention to detail and focus on quality and service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to delivering world-class internal and external guest service.
This role requires moderate physical activity, handling of average-weight objects, up to 50 pounds, and standing and/or walking for up to ten (10) hours per day.
The employee may work in an office, restaurant or kitchen, or outdoor environment with fluctuations in temperature and conditions (e.g. heat, cold, and/or humidity).
