Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the upkeep of grounds and facilities. Responsibilities include operating maintenance machinery, performing various maintenance assignments, and executing janitorial duties across UTA properties. This role also encompasses snow and ice management, basic irrigation system upkeep, and other service-related tasks as directed.

Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • At least six months of verifiable experience in facilities maintenance or landscaping, or equivalent training
  • Proven reliability in a position of trust, with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical card
  • Valid Utah driver’s license
  • Safe driving history with no more than four moving violations in the past three years
  • No more than one DUI violation in the last decade
  • Capacity to complete mandatory safety training relevant to Facilities Maintenance
  • Ability to maintain necessary equipment certifications
  • Capability to operate a UTA vehicle and tow trailers with snow removal and landscaping gear
  • Experience in operating and performing light maintenance on snow removal and landscaping equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime and holidays as required
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential
  • -OR- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with designated days off
*Shift and days off are subject to change


Compensation: $26.48 per hour, with potential shift differentials of $1.00 to $1.50 based on applicable conditions. This position follows a five-year wage progression.
