Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is accountable for the upkeep of grounds and other related responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to: operating maintenance machinery, performing various maintenance assignments, and conducting cleaning tasks as necessary across all UTA locations; managing snow and ice removal at UTA sites; executing basic irrigation system maintenance; and engaging in assorted service labor tasks as directed.

Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • At least six months of verifiable experience in facilities maintenance or landscaping, or six months of relevant training
  • Six months in a trustworthy role, demonstrating reliability, including a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical card
  • Possession of a valid Utah driver's license
  • Safe driving record with no more than 4 moving violations in the last 3 years.
  • No more than 1 DUI violation within the past 10 years.
  • Capability to complete and comprehend mandatory safety training relevant to Facilities Maintenance as it pertains to Service Employees.
  • Ability to maintain other equipment certifications as required.
  • Proficient in driving and operating a UTA assigned vehicle and towing a trailer loaded with snow removal and landscaping tools.
  • Competence in operating and performing light maintenance on all snow removal, de-icing, and landscaping equipment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and holidays as necessary.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (preferred)
  • This role requires consistent and reliable attendance.
  • -OR-An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with Sunday and Monday off*
*Shift and days off are subject to change


Compensation: $26.48 per hour plus $1.00 to $1.50 shift differential if applicable. This is a five-year wage progression.
