Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the upkeep of grounds and performing various responsibilities, which may include operating maintenance machinery, executing miscellaneous maintenance duties as assigned, and conducting janitorial services as necessary across all UTA locations. Responsibilities also encompass snow and ice management, basic irrigation system upkeep, and other service-related labor tasks as designated.

Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • At least six months of verifiable experience in facilities maintenance or landscaping, or six months of relevant training
  • Proven reliability in a trusted position, including a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical card
  • Possession of a valid Utah driver's license
  • Safe driving history with no more than four moving violations in the last three years
  • No more than one driving under the influence violation within the past ten years
  • Capability to complete and comprehend required safety training pertinent to Facilities Maintenance for Service Employees
  • Ability to maintain necessary equipment certifications
  • Proficient in operating a UTA-assigned vehicle and towing trailers loaded with snow removal and landscaping tools
  • Experience in operating and performing light maintenance on snow removal, de-icing, and landscaping equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime and holidays as required
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (preferred)
  • Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory
  • -OR- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Shift:
2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with Sunday and Monday off*

Compensation:
$26.48 per hour plus a shift differential of $1.00 to $1.50 if applicable. This position includes a five-year wage progression.
