Position Summary

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the upkeep and repair of multiple locations within our organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute all tasks related to the maintenance and preservation of the facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, IT infrastructure, and security measures.
  • Conduct maintenance on essential equipment such as water heaters, fans, evaporative coolers, and fitness apparatus.
  • Utilize project management tools for planning and tracking maintenance tasks, including participation in regular team meetings.
  • Manage maintenance-related communications and documentation, ensuring organization and efficiency.
  • Engage in annual planning processes for the maintenance department.
  • Document procedures and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for future reference.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on all facility equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities.
  • Deliver exceptional service to members and guests, addressing any maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Supervise external contractors and volunteers during maintenance and event-related activities.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure budget-conscious maintenance practices.
  • Regularly assess facility conditions for potential issues.
  • Execute seasonal responsibilities, including winter preparations and temperature management.
  • Provide snow removal services as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with building, health, and safety regulations.
  • Assist with special projects and enhancements to the facilities.
  • Experience with fire alarm system maintenance is a plus.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a maintenance or repair role related to facilities.
  • General maintenance skills, including but not limited to changing filters, lightbulbs, and performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and troubleshooting skills.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in exercise equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with members and staff.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as well as respond to urgent maintenance requests.
  • Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to completing shifts.
  • Self-motivated with a positive outlook.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Effective verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and innovate to provide exceptional value to our community.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing at least 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and climb as necessary.
  • Proficient in repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision and depth perception.

Job Hazards

This position may involve exposure to dust, cleaning supplies, and the use of hand tools, which can pose risks such as cuts and repetitive motion injuries. Personal protective equipment may be required.
