**Job Summary:**
Loring Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in New York City.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Design and develop initial plumbing concepts, perform system design calculations, and select equipment for use in building systems.
- Incorporate sustainable design methods and prepare contract drawings detailing the designed systems.
- Prepare reports and specifications, coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects, and attend meetings to establish client needs and discuss design issues.
- Correspond with utilities companies to coordinate incoming services, attend construction meetings, and review RFIs and submittals of all plumbing-related items.
- Attend site visits, produce field observation reports, and review finalized construction to provide punchlists of open items.
**Requirements:**
- Baccalaureate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in commercial, healthcare, or institutional building projects.
- At least 7+ years of current experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities, PE license highly desirable.
- Strong fundamental understanding of national plumbing, fire, and building codes, experience with site detention of storm water and drainage a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking.
- Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines, excellent communication skills, and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way.
