Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing a wide range of duties within the personnel transactions field. The incumbent will work under close supervision at the entry level and under general supervision at the journey level. Key responsibilities include accurately interpreting and applying personnel-related laws, rules, regulations, and agency policies. The successful candidate will also serve as a liaison between employees and control agencies to ensure personnel and payroll documents are processed accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply personnel-related laws, rules, regulations, and agency policies
  • Process personnel and payroll documents accurately and timely
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and control agencies
  • Maintain an assigned roster of full-time, part-time, and intermittent positions
  • Research personnel problems to provide alternative recommendations or solutions

Working Conditions
This position is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento and offers a hybrid schedule with a mix of office and telework. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of personnel-related laws, rules, regulations, and agency policies. Additionally, the candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
