Job Overview:

The Patient Care Service Associate will act as the primary liaison for all patients and the surrounding community. This role involves receiving and processing patient referrals, managing patient registration, verifying demographic information, collecting insurance details, and accurately updating medical records. Additionally, the Patient Care Service Associate will be responsible for scheduling appointments, transcribing orders, explaining financial options to patients, and ensuring the accuracy of medical records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibits exceptional communication and customer service skills by welcoming patients and community members with respect.
  • Handles admission documentation and performs basic insurance verification, ensuring accurate patient identification for billing systems.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries in a friendly and supportive manner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintains patient flow and promptly informs the Supervisor of any departmental or patient-related concerns.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes bed placement requirements to ensure timely and appropriate patient placement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the healthcare sector or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Cadence, and Connect care is preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Possesses problem-solving abilities, basic computer skills, and a typing speed of 40 WPM, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Engages with colleagues and patients in a professional manner.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
