Patient Care Specialist

At Sentara Healthcare, we're seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Specialist to provide exceptional administrative support within our physician's office. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring an excellent patient experience by performing a variety of complex administrative tasks to support patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
- Scheduling appointments and outpatient procedures
- Providing general administrative support for practice operations
- Employing initiative and independent judgment to make decisions about prioritization and handling of incoming requests
Requirements:
- Three years of clerical, customer service experience
- One year of experience with health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third-party payers
- Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
- Associate's degree in lieu of required experience
