Overhead Transmission Engineer

Kiewit Power Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Overhead Transmission Engineer to join our Power Delivery team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the design and delivery of transmission and distribution projects across the country.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and develop innovative design solutions.
- Establish design criteria based on industry, company, and client standards.
- Create computer models of overhead electric transmission lines and structures using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS TOWER.
- Assemble drawings, specifications, and design criteria for the procurement of tubular steel structures, lattice towers, and transmission line hardware.
- Develop construction packages for internal construction crews and client contractors.
- Present design solutions to management and analyze PLS-CADD reports.
- Participate in peer reviews to ensure quality expectations and client standards are met.
- Visit construction sites, meet with clients, and travel to supplier facilities as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- At least 2 years' experience designing transmission lines between 69kV and 345kV.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of FE exam preferred.
- Experience in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and knowledge of MFAD, LPILE, and geotechnical recommendation application for foundation design preferred.
- Knowledge of client and industry standards, including NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and RUS.
