In-House Legal Counsel

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on contract law, intellectual property, employment law, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
  • Identify and analyze legal risks associated with business decisions and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Oversee litigation and dispute resolution, including managing outside counsel relationships.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to mitigate legal risks.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise the company on necessary actions to maintain compliance.

Corporate Governance:

  • Prepare and review board resolutions, meeting minutes, and other corporate documents.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate bylaws and other governance documents.

Requirements:

  • Active member of the State Bar of California.
  • Minimum 2+ years of labor & employment + transactional experience.
  • Proven ability to provide practice advice and solutions that balance legal risk and business priorities.
  • Substantial experience and success in working with HR and management at all levels of the organization.
  • Entertainment industry experience required; prior Talent agency experience preferred.
  • Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Advanced computer and research skills, spreadsheet experience.

Salary Range: $120,000 to $150,000 (DOE)
