Job Description

This role plays a key part in understanding and executing the overall account strategy, working closely with senior management.

The account strategy outlines the current landscape of the customer's business market and identifies target markets and customers for growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the account strategy, including planned expansion or contraction for new and existing business markets.
  • Develop and maintain action plans to ensure key accounts achieve targets and identify specific actions to improve profit and grow the business.
  • Promote and ensure execution of sales opportunities.
  • Apply effective contract management, transactional pricing, and opportunity identification according to Value Plus best practices.
  • Negotiate the recovery of costs with assigned accounts and end-users.
  • Develop tailored and innovative solutions for customers to create value for both customers and Amcor.
  • Manage contracts, including contract renewals and provisions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including routine visits to customer operations.
  • Hold quarterly business reviews across customer organizations to extract value.
  • Be responsible for sales forecast accuracy, AR, overage inventory, and daily business needs.

  • Experience with customer-facing and account management.
  • Strong business acumen and assertiveness.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and value-selling skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well in a team cross-functionally - internally and externally.
  • Dealing with various stakeholders from ARP BU's and managing competing priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage through direct as well as influence-based management.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Intelligent with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong results orientation with a tireless work ethic; tenacious, but also have a high level of emotional judgment.
  • Highly professional with unquestioned integrity and work ethic.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the commercial area in the packaging industry. An appreciation for operations experience desired.
  • Proven track record of accomplishment in account management, preferably in the PET beverage container space or other packaging categories catering to food, beverage, and/or consumer packaged goods manufacturers.
  • Demonstrated business task execution with strong financial acumen.
  • Experience with negotiations; strong influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Extremely proactive and aggressive in seeking defined results.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with software desired.
  • Travel 50%.
  • Valid driver's license.
