Job Summary

The Health and Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of employees and the success of Pactiv Evergreen's operations. This position is responsible for developing and implementing proactive health and safety policies, procedures, and programs that align with the company's vision and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the development and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, and programs that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee plant safety audits, including internal and third-party audits, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement the Pactiv Evergreen Health and Safety Management Technical Standards and maintain updated OSHA required written programs.
  • Investigate and report on potential injuries, accidents, and health and safety-related issues, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide tactical leadership and proactively identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and implement changes to drive results.
  • Promote a Zero Harm culture and oversee health and safety training to support and enhance the organization's safety culture.
  • Develop and deploy policies, procedures, and programs to support best-practice and identify best-practices with the Pactiv Evergreen system.
  • Communicate and train plant management, establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance.
  • Work with the Corporate Health & Safety departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to engineering organizations or contractors in implementing health and safety projects.
  • Review and analyze data to determine the next opportunity to improve health and safety performance.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, or 3+ years of progressive and related professional health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Certification as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or ability to certify within six months.
  • Proficient in MS Office and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, project management capabilities, leadership and motivational skills, and ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Ability to travel (5%) and be team-oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
